The 90-Day Bearing

What you are gettingThe 90-Day Bearing is the plan you draw on the last morning: ninety days of bearings you carry back to work.

Where it fitsIt is true north on the map. It takes every reading, every heading and every lintel below the line and sets them into one plan, and it is still open at day ninety.

Why it is the topmost ring

Ideas will find you anywhere. Decisions have to be given somewhere to happen. The Bearing is drawn at the map table on the last morning, by hand, with the three headings you set on night three in front of you and the Instrument's first two readings beside them. It is written to be carried, not filed.

Why it lasts

Weekly recaps. Twelve short entries, in the printed workbook and in the digital edition, so the plan gets read every week rather than once.
An accountability partner. Someone from your cohort who holds the same plan to the same standard.
Thirty, sixty, ninety. The cohort comes back together at each mark to share what has actually moved.
The day-ninety reading. The Instrument closes the loop with the only number we call a result.
