You hand over your phone, your laptop, your to-do list. The luxury safari tent is yours. The land is yours. There is no schedule and no one knocking on the door. The only rhythm is dawn light, the arc of the sun, fire at night, stars overhead.

Still Point is a Friday-to-Monday solo residency for one guest at a time, held in a private luxury safari tent on Root Astro's seven private acres in the Catskills, 90 minutes from New York City. There is no group, no agenda, and no devices from arrival to departure. Root Astro co-founders Lee Arthur and Marsha Prospere built it for a specific kind of exhaustion that a vacation cannot touch: the noise that follows a person home because it was never really about the schedule. What is left when the noise stops is the point.
STILLNESS · ROOT ASTROLABE SPECTRUM
Still Point sits at the stillness end of the spectrum. No cohort, no challenge, no agenda. The land does the work. You are returned to your own thinking, which is the only place clarity actually lives.
THE PROMISE
Still Point has no formal deliverable. No operating plan. No peer crew. The promise is simpler and harder: a nervous system back online, the memory of silence, and proof that you can survive without the noise you’ve built your life around.
This is strategic rest for leaders who have forgotten what rest feels like. Not a spa. Not a vacation. A confrontation with your own stillness, and the discovery that what you find there is worth more than anything on your calendar.

BASHAKILL WETLAND AT DAWN · SEVEN PRIVATE ACRES
There is no agenda here. Three soft movements, one quiet return. The land sets the pace.
You hand over your phone, your laptop, your to-do list. The luxury safari tent is yours. The land is yours. There is no schedule and no one knocking on the door. The only rhythm is dawn light, the arc of the sun, fire at night, stars overhead.
A morning trail walk, fire-tending instruction, night sky observation — if you want them. Nothing required. You can spend your days reading, walking, sleeping, staring at the fire. The work is unhurried. Your nervous system finds its own pace, and that pace is the work.
You leave with no operating plan, no peer crew, no follow-up cadence. What you take home is something simpler and more durable: a nervous system back online, the memory of silence, and proof that you can survive without the noise you'd built your life around.
You leave with no plan. You leave rested. That's the whole of it.

WHO THIS IS FOR
You’re burned out but functional. You’re making good decisions but feeling nothing. You’re successful by every external measure and empty by every internal one. You don’t need another retreat with breakout sessions and name tags. You need silence.
Still Point is for executives in transition, founders post-exit, leaders between chapters, or anyone who has been running so long they’ve forgotten what it feels like to be still. The only prerequisite is willingness.
A solo residency runs on its own quiet timing. No cohort to coordinate. The land sets the schedule.
Some people carry this page for weeks before they act on it. That's fine.
Still Point begins with a simple conversation. No application, no interview. Just a quiet exchange about what you're carrying and what you're ready to set down.
